Be ye also ready.
Beneath lie the remains of
WILLIAM BOWER, A.M.,
of South Gower,
a native of Scotland
and brother of the Rev. JOHN BOWER
of Mary Culter
near Aberdeen:
who departed this life
May 4, A.D., 1848
Aged 61 years.

The life of man,
how short the bloom
No sceptered hand can save
When Death's pale messenger appears
And calls us to the grave.

William Bower, a schoolmaster, came to Canada about 1811. He and his wife raised 4 children in Williamsburgh and South Gower.
