THE CLAN CURRIE SOCIETY

The Clan Currie Society is an international, non-profit, tax-exempt, educational and cultural organization. The Society was established in 1991 to celebrate the distinguished history and vast accomplishments of the Clan Currie worldwide.

Its purpose is to [1] preserve, promote, and pass along to others the customs, tradition, and heritage of the celtic people, [2] educate the general public concerning celtic history, literature, religion, architecture, music, poetry, and the arts, [3] promote education in this heritage in all practical ways, [4] mount a substantial genealogical effort on the Clan Currie, [5] publish a quarterly newsletter, Inspire To Victory, and [6] show the CURRIE tartan at celtic gatherings, highland games, Kirking of the Tartans, and whenever appropriate.

REGULAR MEMBERSHIP is open to persons of Scottish/Irish descent, male or female [and their spouses] bearing or who have borne the name of Currie, Curry, Currey, Corey, MacCurrie, MacCurry, MacCorey or MacMhuirrich [or other related spellings].

ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP is available to persons who do not qualify as Regular Members, but who have an interest in the Society and its mission.

LIFE MEMBERSHIP in the Society is also available.

ALL members receive a subscription to Inspire To Victory, our quarterly newsletter, a membership directory [published annually] and a handsome membership certificate. Plans are now underway to develop a computer database for the storage and access of genealogical records.

The Society also sponsors a Kirking of the Tartans festival each June, and a Burns Night dinner each January. Members also are invited and encouraged to attend the Society's annual gatherings and special events held at Highland Games around the country.
