Rod Stewart

1945 -

Currently on an international tour promoting his latest album, When We Were The New Boys, 53 year-old Rod Stewart is proving that age only improves any good Scotch.

Before he was discovered in 1964 by Long John Baldry, who caught Rod singing to himself in a railway station, Stewart was a soccer player, and even a grave-digger for a couple of days. But since his first #1 hits in 1971 ("Maggie May," and "Every Picture Tells a Story"), Rod says, "Life's been very good thank you very much."

Other timeless hits include: "Tonight's the Night," "You're In My Heart," and "Forever Young" -- not to mention the campy "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy." His discography includes over 40 albums! His newest recording is When We Were The New Boys. and it features a cover of a tune by the '90's hit British group Oasis.

Canadian Rod Stewart fans will be interested to note that Rod wrote the song, "Never Give Up on a Dream" in honor of Terry Fox, the Canadian who, after losing a leg to cancer, ran accross the country to raise money for cancer research.

Stewart has been married to supermodel Rachel Hunter for eight years. The couple has two children, Renee and Liam. He has three older children from previous relationships: Kimberly, Sean, and Ruby.
